Bayfield County Forest Project protects 159,656 acres of Wisconsin's Bayfield County Forest. Through improved forest management, the project aims to increase carbon storage by implementing a balanced harvest regime, targeting varied age classes instead of maximising timber revenue. This approach allows for continued timber harvesting while prioritising carbon sequestration, wildlife habitat, recreation, and watershed protection. The project anticipates generating 4,950,190 tCO2e in emission reductions over 20 years.

Funding this project supports sustainable forest management and generates verified carbon credits. By foregoing maximum timber harvest, Bayfield County can enhance carbon sequestration, contributing significantly to climate change mitigation.
