Children reading with solar lamps

SolarAid

SolarAid is working to deliver clean, safe, and affordable solar lights to rural communities across sub-Saharan Africa, reaching the places no one else goes to. SolarAid has learnt the best way to ensure universal access to energy and to make lasting change happen faster, is to build local, sustainable businesses and involve communities. By selling solar lights rather than giving them away they build a market which spreads faster than handouts and is sustainable. Rather than beneficiaries people are then customers which gives them rights if products are faulty.
