Charm Industrial

Charm Industrial has developed an innovative way of sequestering carbon from agricultural waste. They have built portable machines, called pyrolyzers which convert waste biomass into bio-oil through a process called fast pyrolysis, which means heating plant material like sawdust, nutshells, corn stover, and other agricultural by-products up to 500ºC for a few seconds in an oxygen-free chamber. This process produces bio-oil, which Charm injects into deep underground wells used for industrial waste, or into salt caverns left behind by oil and gas companies. The bio-oil solidifies there, locking away carbon for thousands to millions of years.
